5 Important Things to Know When Buying an Electric Bike: #3 POWER!
There are many things to consider when buying your first electric bike. Here at E-Lux Electric Bikes, we've created a video series of what we believe are the 5 most important considerations when searching for your new electric bike.
Number 3: POWER!
The third thing to think about when buying new electric bike is the power of the bike. The size of the battery and the size of the electric motor are the two critical areas that effect power for an electric bike. As detailed in the blog post about Range, 48 volt batteries will provide the most mph and power for climbing hills.
Most electric bikes currently are situated with a 350 watt or 500 watt motor. 350 watt motors are more often than not underpowered for all but the smallest of riders. 500 watt motors allow most riders to climb even the largest of hills. All E-Lux Electric Bikes come with a minimum of 500 watt motors that are enabled to peak around 750 to 800 watts. Together our 48 volt batteries and 500 watt motors allow for some of the fastest top speeds of electric bikes on the market today.
