E-biking is a great way to get around town. Many people are switching over to enjoy calmer, more comfortable commutes. However, e-bikes aren’t just for practical traveling. They are also perfect for getting out and seeing the great outdoors. The National Park Service issued a memorandum allowed electric bikes wherever regular bikes are permitted. Why not go exploring? These are some of the best parks for e-biking.

Zion National Park

Located in Utah, this national park is known for its impressive sandstone features. As you ride along, you’ll see towering mesas and rock towers as well as deep canyons. It is a truly beautiful park to visit with consistent weather for biking.

There are a number of roads throughout the park, but these allow motor vehicles as well. If you want a biking-only trail, your options are limited to the Pa’rus Trail. However, this should be enough because it offers truly incredible views.

Acadia National Park

Up in Maine lies the 47,000-acre Acadia National Park. It is primarily located on Mountain Desert Island. However, it is quite different from the desert of Zion National Park.

It features woodlands, rocky mountainous peaks and beaches on the Atlantic. The park also happens to include Cadillac Mountain, the highest peak on the east coast.

You can explore quite freely on any Class 1 (pedal/electric) e-bike. E-Lux Bikes models are perfect for Acadia.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Ohio’s national park is another great destination for e-bikers. Part of the charm of this park is the combination of historic homes and structure along with the incredible natural sights. You’ll find beautiful waterfalls, enjoyable trails and more.

This park is actively promoting the use of e-bikes. You can take them to most places in the park. The NPS staff will provide details on where they are allowed. The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath, the best known in the park, is a popular spot for e-biking.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone has been one of the most accommodating parks for e-bikers. The staff explicitly state that e-bikes are considered to be bicycles rather than motor vehicles. They are allowed everywhere pedaled bikes can go. That is a large number of trails.

Head here to enjoy the incredible geothermal features including Old Faithful. Additionally, there is impressive wildlife throughout the park including bison, elk, moose, bears, wolves and many other large mammals.

Grand Teton National Park

Nearby you’ll find Grand Teton (doing this with Yellowstone is a great trip). Class 1 e-bikes are allowed on the main multi-use pathway in the park. Grand Teton is definitely less accommodating than other parks. However, the sights are still amazing and worth seeing. Since you can ride an e-bike and it is so close to Yellowstone, it is well worth the visit.

Get Started

E-Lux Bikes are ideal for so much more than just running errands and getting to work. Why not plan a trip to some of the U.S.’s most impressive natural destinations? The national parks are incredible places to visit and everyone should try to visit at least a few. Exploring them with an e-bike can make the experience even more enjoyable.
