Getting an E-bike? Here's another way to avoid wrist pain.
By now, you know, most e-bike riders spend more time on their e-bikes than people do on their regular bikes. And you probably know e-bikes can have a Throttle, Pedal Assist, or both. But did you know that some types of Throttles can contribute to wrist and hand pain? Full Twist Throttles and Half Twist Throttles can be difficult to hold in place at full power if a bike doesn't have Pedal Assist. Do this for more than 10 or 15 minutes and you will feel it. Especially when you're trying to grip the handlebar to maintain control of the bike. Not to mention the angle of your wrist while you're holding the Throttle on. It won't take long before you know it is uncomfortable.
A Thumb Throttle fixes all this. You just push it down three quarters of an inch, and you've got full power to the ground. And your grip is relaxed on the bar with no angle.
Here's a pro tip. If you get a bike with Pedal Assist and a Thumb Throttle. Then you can blast off when the light turns green and kick in Pedal Assist like cruise control. Now, that's the way you do it.
